Perfection
There are many (great) things that will be expected of you in your life. By us, by your elders, by your peers and some day, by your own children. Understand that you have the choice of action, not of inaction. What you want to achieve, is up to you; but achievement is preordained. We are all here for a purpose – find yours.
To know what is good for you and what you are good at, will take time. Don’t lose heart at failures – fail often; fail early. Try everything you can – writing, singing, dancing, science, art, history – deduce what you like and what you excel in. Be wary, because after a while, you may (will) realize that what is good for you and what you are good at are most likely, two different things.
Make what you like, your passion – because you will always find time for it. And what you are good at should be your job. With experience and time, find a way to merge these two trails into one. If you find that you are good at what you like, do that with overzealous energy as it is a rare advantage for you to achieve excellence.
Yes, achieve excellence, not perfection. Perfection is ever elusive and entreats you to concede to a false sense of failure. In my view, perfection is the art of being able to accept the imperfection in you and around you. Perfection is to be a better person today than you were yesterday.
